Monrovia- May 1, 2024-NLA new Board Chair calls for reforms and increased revenue generation to support national budget
The newly appointed Board Chairman of the National Lottery Authority of Liberia (NLA), Hon. Prince Menkalo Gbieu has assured his administration’s efforts to increasing the authority revenue generation-base to support the national budget.
The NLA new Board Chairman disclosed that Lotteries around the World are establishing strong revenue bases and immensely contributing to national economies and human capacity developments noting, NLA will be no exception under the ARREST Agenda of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
Hon. Gbieu said the Board of Directors will closely work with NLA’s Management to institute significant policy mechanisms for effective monitoring of contents and minimizing potential harms in the industry thereby encouraging strong competitions amongst operators and investors to expand revenue generation to adequately support the Government of Liberia.
Hon. Prince Menkalo Gbieu further noted that the gaming industry in Liberia will also embrace structural, technological, behavioral, and economic shifts to effect policy significance for massive reforms and advancements.
He made the disclosure Wednesday, May 1, when the Lottery Board officially inducted the two newly appointed deputies for Administration and Operations in offices.
In remarks, NLA current Director General, Hon. Reginald Kpan Nagbe who welcome the new Board Members and two Deputies, lauded President Boakai for maintaining him in his tenured position at the Authority and assured of continuing his good work at the entity for the forward progress of the country.
For their parts, the two newly inducted deputies for Administration and Operations, Hon. Ennish Fahnbulleh and Christian Cooper thanked President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for their preferments and promised to work with the Board and Director General for the smooth running of the National Lottery Authority.
They embraced the Board’s quest to constituting significant reform measures in the gaming and gambling industry in Liberia under the ARREST Agenda of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
